Meet Jenny Gerbrandt
I hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University, 2015) and have been working as a Counselling Therapist in private practice for ten years and also provide supervision to fellow counsellors. Over the years I have gained a renewed appreciation for the process that we go through in therapy, and in life. Through my experience of walking with clients, I have become increasingly convinced that quick fixes are not the answer. There is beauty and value in walking through all parts of life – not sidestepping the hard parts.
But the reality is that the hard parts are – well, hard. You don’t need to do it alone.
I may not be able to completely change your circumstances. But I can help you discover what parts are in your control that you can change. I may not be able to take away all the pain or fear. But I can show you some strategies to cope with it. I cannot make all your dreams come true. But I can help you build goals and take steps toward achieving them.
I have experience working with issues of anxiety, trauma, stress, self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship struggles. I work with couples and individuals ages 16 and older.
I currently have limited availability for new clients. Please contact me with any questions or to inquire about openings.
Meet Alyssa Peters
I am currently completing the practicum portion of my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University under the supervision of Jenny Gerbrandt. I work with couples and individuals ages 10 and up who are navigating life’s challenges, including anxiety, depression, relational struggles, trauma, and life transitions. I offer both in-person and virtual appointments. My primary approach is person-centred therapy, and I draw from other approaches as needed to support your unique needs. I aim to provide a collaborative, holistic, and supportive space where you can reflect and grow in awareness, explore your personal experiences, and discover strategies to move forward in a way that feels meaningful and manageable for you.
Outside of counselling, I enjoy working with my hands, in activities like gardening, and home design, finding creative solutions where it seems impossible. I love noticing the small details that make a space or a project feel alive, and I bring that same curiosity and care to my work with clients. I value creativity, patience, and possibility, and I enjoy discovering new ways to approach challenges that support growth in both personal and professional life.
If you feel like my approach could be a good fit for you, Jenny and I would be happy to connect and answer any questions you may have.
Alyssa is currently taking new clients. Because Alyssa is a student, she is able to offer a reduced fee for her services. Please contact us if you would like to meet with Alyssa.
